Jeepers Anonymous Steps Up to Get Tulsa’s Essential Workers to Work During Snowstorm

Share

As winter weather continues to terrorize Tulsa, one group of heroes has emerged to save the town from getting flipped upside down.

Jeepers Anonymous, a community based network of Jeep owners, is offering free rides to essential workers during the snowstorm.

Healthcare staff, nurses, hospice workers, nursing home employees, and other critical personnel can call and request help if needed. Here are the ways to get connected.

Call or text:

  • Tulsa north of I 44: (918) 358 6059
  • Tulsa south of I 44: (918) 308 1815
  • Jenks, Bixby, Glenpool: (918) 906 8875
  • Broken Arrow: (918) 327 2707
  • Sapulpa and Sand Springs: (918) 500 0680
  • Catoosa: (918) 313 2767
  • Owasso: (918) 516 8061

“Missing work because of bad weather is not an option for some people,” said Jon Schwebach, president of Jeepers Anonymous. “There are people who need to be somewhere on a constant, hourly basis. If we can help get them there safely, that’s the least we can do.”

Last year, the group provided around 1,000 rides in just three days, all coordinated through a single phone number. This year, learning from that experience, Jeepers Anonymous expanded its operation to seven phone numbers and nearly doubled the number of volunteer drivers.

Jeepers Anonymous has supported the Tulsa community through breast cancer fundraisers, Thanksgiving meal efforts, and Easter basket drives.

“Even the little things count,” he said. “Everybody has the ability to help someone else. Whether it’s big or small, just do it.”

Jeepers Anonymous is proving that community support can make the difference between a bad accident and making it back home safely to your family. Stay safe, folks!
