What is the point of having leaders if they will not be there when they are needed most? What sense does it make to have a representative when the only thing they represent is their stock portfolio? The point of having representatives is to ensure that people’s concerns and interests are heard. Why are our representatives not advocating for Oklahomans?
Farmers are currently in crisis because of fuel and fertilizer costs. Grocery prices have skyrocketed, and thousands of Oklahomans are barely making ends meet. How are any of the people you elected to represent you helping you in any way?
If we keep choosing the same people to represent us, things are never going to change. Next time you choose a representative, make sure they are active in the community. Make sure they take the time to listen to you, and give them the chance to tell you how they plan to work for you. It is their job.
Do not ever forget what happened this week. Our commander in chief threatened the total extermination of an entire civilization, potentially triggering a nuclear war, and none of your representatives said anything about it. They did not address the people who elected them. They did not ask how you felt about it or how this war is affecting you. They simply do not care. Please, Oklahoma, next time choose wisely.
