OU Students Demand Tuition Refunds and Seek Transfers After “Fulnecky” Incident

Share

The University of Oklahoma is facing mounting pressure as students call for tuition refunds and request immediate support to transfer to institutions with stronger academic reputations. The incident began when Fulnecky, an OU junior, submitted an essay arguing that “women naturally want to do womanly things because God created us with those womanly desires in our hearts,” and described gender diversity as “demonic.”

According to students, OU’s decision to reprimand an instructor for doing her job instead of backing her academic judgment is proof that the university’s reputation in science has been permanently tarnished.

“I worry my colleagues will not take me seriously for being associated to a school that encourages religious fanaticism. I did not sign up to a Christian school.”

“I didn’t come here for my degree to be associated with pseudoscience,” said a biology major who asked not to be named. “I feel genuinely embarrassed. I did not sign up to a Christian school.”

“As long as this story stays in national headlines, our degrees are affected,” said another student. “We just want to study in a place where we don’t have to defend the legitimacy of our education.”

The Oklahoma Gaslight is saddened to see academic integrity compromised by religious agendas and political leverage. We truly hope for a better future.
